Calicraft Brewing Company The City Dynamic IPA

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Calicraft Brewing Company The City Dynamic IPA - Bittered with Blackberry Root and Orange Peel. I had a chance to try this at the SF Beer Week Opening Gala and was happy to find a bottle of this at Star Grocery in Berkeley, CA (here).

Commercial description: “Brewed with a combination of nine difference hops, The City IPA brings fresh aromas of citrus, dank and pine to your glass”.
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours a dark golden color with a large slightly off-white head and excellent lacing.
Aroma: Citrus, pine, sweet malts and a touch of what seems to be honey.
Taste: Sweet malts upfront balanced nicely with citrus hops and an herbal bitterness that must be the blackberry root.
Overall: Crisp and clean, Calicraft Brewing Company The City Dynamic IPA is solid.  This 6.4% ABV offering has a unique flavor to it that makes it stand out.  Not a hop bomb, but really easy drinking and enjoyable.  I recommend trying it!

Cheers!

Mark Harvey
