Clown Shoes Beer Pierre Ferrand Billionaire - English Barleywine Ale - Aged in Cognac Barrels

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Clown Shoes Beer Pierre Ferrand Billionaire - English Barleywine Ale - Aged in Cognac Barrels.

From the Clown Shoes Beer website: “What could be more distinguished than our Director of Operations, Matt Smith, gracing a billion dollar bill with a smirk and a neck beard? You! With this rich beer in your belly. The Billionaire is an English Style Barleywine Ale, aged for six months in 30 year old Cognac barrels we got from friends at Pierre Ferrand. Here's to rare beer wishes and caviar dreams!”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours dark reddish brown with a thin tan head leaving lots of lacing.
Aroma: Toffee, caramel, vanilla, dark fruits, oak, earthy hops and a slight scent of cognac.
Taste: Caramel, toffee, dark fruits, vanilla, oak, earthy and spicy hops, brown sugar and cognac.
Overall: Smooth and creamy, Clown Shoes Beer Pierre Ferrand Billionaire - English Barleywine Ale - Aged in Cognac Barrels is very good.  The 12% ABV is well masked.
