Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the
NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.
Tonight’s featured beer is Allagash Brewing Company Tripel
Reserve Belgian Style Ale.
From the Allagash Brewing Company website: “This strong
golden ale is marked by passion fruit and herbal notes in the aroma, with
suggestions of banana and honey in the complex palate. The Tripel has a
remarkably long and smooth finish.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Batch
# 194 pours a cloudy golden color with a big white head and very nice lacing.
Aroma: Candi
sugar, Belgian yeast, banana, clove, spice, honey, fruity and floral.
Taste: Lightly
fruity, candi sugar and malty sweetness, Belgian yeast, clove, honey, citrus/grapefruit
hop bitterness, a bit herbal and floral with just the slightest hint of
alcohol.
Overall: Complex
and amazing, Allagash Brewing Company Tripel Reserve Belgian Style Ale is
exceptional. At 9% ABV this highly drinkable
offering from Allagash Brewing Company is a must try for fans of the
style. I highly recommend this one!
Cheers!
Mark Harvey
