The Lost Abbey Serpent's Stout

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is The Lost Abbey Serpent's Stout.

From The Lost Abbey website: “The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with.
This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours pitch black with a large mocha head and nice lacing.
Aroma: Roasted malts, coffee, dark chocolate, molasses and vanilla.
Taste: Rich dark chocolate, roasted malts, coffee, caramel, toffee and vanilla.
Overall: Exceptional and complex, The Lost Abbey Serpent's Stout is everything I was hoping it would be.  At 10.5% ABV this is easily one of the best stouts on the market.  As usual, The Lost Abbey does it again (as if I had any doubt).

Cheers!

Mark Harvey
