Hangar 24 Craft Brewery Columbus IPA

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Hangar 24 Craft Brewery Columbus IPA.

From the Hangar 24 Craft Brewery website: “Bitter and bold. This single hop American style IPA features 100 percent Columbus Hops for an intense citrus, floral and spicy aroma and flavor. Five different malts form the rich backbone that balances the hops’ 77 IBUs. The resinous mouthfeel is followed by a clean, dry hopped finish that refreshes and satisfies.

Additional Information:

Delve into this beer and you are going to see the complexities that this highly hopped beer has to offer. Grapefruit, orange, lemon, and flower essences are just a few flavors/aromas you are sure to find.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours a dark caramel color with a thick white head and sticky lacing.
Aroma: Citrus and pine hops, sweet caramel and bready malts.
Taste: Sweet caramel malt up front, pale malt follows, pine and citrus hops round this out.  Not a hop bomb, but very nice drinking.
Overall: Approachable and tasty, Hangar 24 Craft Brewery Columbus IPA is a solid IPA.  At 7% ABV I highly recommend giving it a shot.  I liked it.  You will too.

Cheers!
