Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the
NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.
Tonight’s featured beer is 10 Barrel Brewing Company
Apocalypse IPA. I sourced this beer while in Bend, OR at Broken Top Bottle Shop
(here) and I can’t recommend them
enough. If you find yourself in Bend you
should check out their excellent selection.
From the 10 Barrel Brewing Company website: “THIS WEST COAST STYLE IPA IS OUR
FLAGSHIP BEER. WE CAN TALK ABOUT IPAS AND HOPS ALL DAY BUT YOU BETTER JUST GIVE
IT A RUN FOR YOURSELF.
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours
a dark golden orange with a thin white head and sticky lacing.
Aroma: Hoppy
citrus and slight pine, sweet and biscuit malts.
Taste: Bready,
biscuit and sweet malts balanced with citrus, grapefruit and just a touch of
pine hops.
Overall: Wonderfully
balanced and extremely easy to drink, 10 Barrel Brewing Company Apocalypse IPA
is an exceptional NW IPA. There’s no
wonder why this is 10 Barrel’s flagship beer. Weighing in at At 6.8% ABV I
highly recommend this one for those who enjoy a stellar IPA.
Cheers!
Mark Harvey
