Lagunitas Brewing Company Censored Rich Copper Ale

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Lagunitas Brewing Company Censored Rich Copper Ale (aka The Kronik).I was surprised when I realized that I had yet to review this one so I figured I better remedy that quickly.

From the Lagunitas Brewing Company website: “Originally called the Kronik, this beer was censored by the federal label-approving agency, the BATF — they claimed the word had some sort of Marijuana reference. We slapped a “Censored” sticker on it as a joke and they accepted it. Whatever.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours a clear copper color with a large cream colored head with nice lacing.
Aroma: Caramel, toffee and bready malts, floral and citrus hop scents.
Taste: Roasted and caramel malts, toffee, citrus and floral hop bitterness.
Overall: Balanced and very drinkable, Lagunitas Brewing Company Censored Rich Copper Ale is a solid beer worth trying.  At 6.7% ABV this is easy drinkin’ and delicious.  I’ll certainly purchase this one again!

Cheers!

Mark Harvey
