Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the
NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.
Tonight’s featured beer is Red Lodge Ales Brewing Company
Summer Daze Doppelweiss. Here’s another beer I sourced on my summer vacation,
drank and took notes on and am finally getting around to posting. There’s going
to be a lot of that over the next few months since I’ve photographed and
essentially reviewed close to 100 beers, but with limited personal time I’m
plodding along getting them posted as quickly as I can.
From the Red Lodge Ales Brewing Company website: “Summer
Daze Doppelweiss – A double hefeweizen brewed in the traditional Bavarian
style. Contains banana and honey flavors and a rich, creamy feel.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours
a pale hazy yellow with a thick white head and foamy lacing.
Aroma: Wheat,
citrus, banana, clove, honey and a slight yeast scent.
Taste: Sweet
wheat, honey, banana, clove and yeast.
Overall: Sweet
and delicious, Red Lodge Ales Brewing Company Summer Daze Doppelweiss is
excellent. This 7.5% ABV offering is
something I would most definitely drink again if the opportunity presented
itself. All of the Red Lodge Ales Brewing Company beers I have tried have been
top notch.
Cheers!
Mark Harvey
