Boulevard Brewing Company KC Pils

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Boulevard Brewing Company KC Pils.

From the Boulevard Brewing Company website: “Like many American burgs, our town was once home to a number of small, regional breweries. As they disappeared, so too went the full-flavored but easy drinking classic American lager. Today, we salute these bygone breweries and revive their legacy with KC Pils: 100% malt, real hop character, unpasteurized. It’s the taste of tradition.

Boulevard Brewing Company is proud to call Kansas City home. KC’s rich brewing heritage inspires us, and local support sustains us. Now, we’rereturning the favor by donating a full 10% of the revenue from KC Pils to a variety of hometown charities. We dedicate this all-malt, real hop, classic American pilsner to you, KC. Cheers!”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours clear gold with a thin white head and spotty lacing.
Aroma: Pilsner malt, grainy, earthy and spicy hop notes.
Taste: Light spicy and earthy hop bitterness, Pilsner malt and grainy malt sweetness.
Overall: Crisp, clean and refreshing, Boulevard Brewing Company KC Pils is a wonderfully balanced Pilsner.  This 4.8% ABV beer is extremely drinkable and would be a worthy beer to session.  Although I don’t tend to drink Pilsners all that often I’d keep this one in the beer fridge if it made it to NorCal.

Cheers!

Mark Harvey
