Revolver Brewing Blood & Honey American Ale

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Revolver Brewing Blood & Honey American Ale - Ale Brewed with Blood Orange Peel, Honey & Spices.  I received this bottle at Lonestar Beverages (here) in Carrollton, TX from one of their customers (of all things).  I got to talking to him and he was pointing out all the great beers I should try and bring back to review.  I told him I didn’t want to buy six packs and so he bought a six pack of this and gave me two! Talk about hospitality!

From the Revolver Brewing website: “An unfiltered deep golden ale made with malted two row barley and wheat. The brew is finished with Blood Orange zest, local Fall Creek Farms Honey and other spices that bring special flavors to this unique beer.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours a hazy golden orange color with a large white head and nice lacing.
Aroma: Wheat, honey, citrus, banana, orange and spices.
Taste: Wheat, sweet pale malts, blood oranges, banana, honey and spices.
Overall: Tasty and completely enjoyable, Revolver Brewing Blood & Honey American Ale was as good as the gentleman who gave it to me said it was.  At 7% ABV this balanced and a touch sweet wheat beer would be a great thing to have around on regular rotation at home.

Cheers!

Mark Harvey
