Mudshark Brewing Company Full Moon Belgian Style White Ale

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Mudshark Brewing Company Full Moon Belgian Style White Ale. This is one of the several beers I brought back from my not so recent trip to Phoenix, AZ.

From the Mudshark Brewing Company website: “Displays a hazy orange amber-color with a light aroma of sweet orange. Spiced with orange peel and coriander that is strong and smooth. The high ABV for this style is well hidden in the aromas and flavors.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours a hazy golden orange color with almost no head and zero lacing.
Aroma: Orange blossoms, coriander, bready malts and wheat.
Taste: Wheat, orange, coriander and bready malts.  This reminds me of a Blue Moon or Shocktop only MUCH better.
Overall: Sweet and smooth, Mudshark Brewing Company Full Moon Belgian Style White Ale is very good for the style. The 8.5% ABV on this one is much higher than the standard Belgian Style White Ales I’ve tried. Although I don’t generally gravitate to this style I would recommend it to those who enjoy it.

Cheers!

Mark Harvey
