Avery Brewing Company Old Jubilation Ale

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Avery Brewing Company Old Jubilation Ale.

From the Avery Brewing Company website: “Our winter strong ale has a gorgeous mahogany hue, a hint of hazelnuts, and a finish reminiscent of mocha and toffee. No spices, just a perfect blend of five specialty malts."
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours a dark reddish brown with a large tan head leaving spotty lacing.
Aroma: Roasted malt, caramel, toasted biscuits, toffee, dark fruits and brown sugar.
Taste: Bready and roasted malts, caramel, toffee, molasses, dark fruit and a little cocoa.
Overall: Smooth and complex, Avery Brewing Company Old Jubilation Ale is an excellent Winter warmer.  This 8.3% ABV offering is great sipping on a cold night.  I’m going to cellar a couple to see how this one ages.

Cheers!

Mark Harvey
