Great Divide Brewing Company Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Great Divide Brewing Company Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout.

From the Great Divide Brewing Company website: “A generous infusion of Denver’s own Pablo’s espresso adds yet another layer of complexity to this beer, combining with the vanilla oak character, intense roasty maltiness and bold hop profile to create a whole new breed of mythical creature. It’s official: You can now have Yeti with breakfast.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance:  Pours pitch black with a thick mocha colored head and excellent lacing.
Aroma: Roasted malt, espresso, smoke, oak, vanilla and chocolate.
Taste: Flavors follow the nose with dark roasted malt, a slight hop bitterness, sweet chocolate, espresso, oak and vanilla.
Overall: Balanced, big and delicious, Great Divide Brewing Company Espresso Oak Aged Yeti Imperial Stout is a must for anyone who loves oak-aged Imperial Coffee Stouts.  I brought this bottle back with me from Tulsa (I picked it up at Whiskey Business – here) and wish I had enough room to bring more back with me.  This would be an excellent beer to cellar.  At 9.5% ABV the alcohol is hardly noticeable.  I had this one on tap while in Tulsa and it was fantastic. This beer is excellent!

Cheers!
