Napa Smith Brewery Hopageddon Imperial IPA

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Napa Smith Brewery Hopageddon Imperial IPA.

From the Napa Smith Brewery website: “You can pray to the Hop Gods all you want… You’ll never find another IPA like this one. Hopageddon is an end-of-the-world Imperial IPA with an intensely aromatic hop profile that defies expectations and will leave you wondering, “What just happened?”

At 144 IBUs, Hopageddon glows with a gorgeous fiery orange color and showcases a distinct, full white head. The unique flavors from our obscenely extended dry-hopping and shockwave of bitterness lingers on the palate and leaves hopheads with a Post-ahopalyptic yearning for more.

Can you survive the Hopageddon?”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours a hazy dark amber color with orange highlights a large and fluffy white head and sticky lacing.
Aroma: Citrus, herbal and grassy hop notes, nutty, grainy and sweet malts.
Taste: Sweet malts up front – some toffee, a little caramel and bready, citrus, fruity and slight tropical and pine hop notes.
Overall: Nicely balanced, Napa Smith Brewery Hopageddon Imperial IPA is good.  This 9.2% ABV offering is drinkable with a lingering bitter finish.

Cheers!

Mark Harvey
