Knee Deep Brewing Co. Hop Shortage Triple IPA

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Knee Deep Brewing Company Hop Shortage Triple IPA.

From the Knee Deep Brewing Company website: “The cousin of Simtra, but brewed with only Centennial and Chinook hops. Need we say more?”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours a translucent golden orange with a nice off-white head and decent lacing.
Aroma: Citrus and pine hops, sweet caramel and biscuit hops with a distinct boozy aroma lingering.
Taste: Grapefruit, pineapple, pine and citrus hops in the front balanced with sweet caramel and biscuit malts.  Finishes with the same mix of hops – tropical, grassy and piney.
Overall: With a really big hop profile, Knee Deep Brewing Company’s Hop Shortage Triple IPA is nice.  At 11.3% ABV it is a butt kicker, but well worth the beating.

Cheers!

Mark Harvey
