Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the
NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.
Tonight’s featured beer is Cedar Creek Brewery Dankosaurus
IPA. I picked up this can at Lonestar Beverages (here) in Carrollton, TX.
From the Cedar Creek Brewery website: “Who doesn’t
love a great IPA? The secret of this brew is that we used actual dinosaur
bones.
Okay, that was a lie. But we did throw in enough hops to
bury a Brontosaurus. Inspired by some of our favorite West Coast IPAs, the bold
pine, citrus, peach, and tangerine hop flavors, along with a clean bitterness
are balanced by a velvety malt backbone. This beautiful blend of flavor and
drinkability showcases the truly unique experimental hop 05256 which we find to
be delightfully juicy and dank. You don’t need tiny arms and a huge head to
enjoy this mammoth IPA.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours
a golden orange color with a white head and good lacing.
Aroma: Citrus,
tropical, pine and floral hops with a slight bready malt scent in the
background.
Taste: Tropical
and citrus hops are up front, some pine and earthy notes followed by sweet
bready malt.
Overall: I’m glad
this was recommended to me as Cedar Creek Brewery Dankosaurus IPA is a tasty
IPA. Weighing in at 6.8% ABV I would
certainly drink this one again.
Cheers!
Mark Harvey
