Ska Brewing Company & BRASH Brewing Company Skankin' Dirty Imperial IPA

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Ska Brewing Company & BRASH Brewing Company Skankin' Dirty Imperial IPA.

From the BRASH Brewing Company website: “We have been friends with and fans of Ska Brewing from Durango CO for quite a long time, so we jumped at the chance to collaborate with them. After months of recipe work, our collaboration is brewed and about to head out to various locations. 9%abv and 129ibu imperial ipa- Skankin Dirty”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours golden orange with a tall off-white head and loads of spotty lacing.
Aroma: Sweet caramel and crystal malts combined with pine and tropical hop scents.
Taste: Sweet caramel malts, bready and crystal malts, tropical fruit hops and piney hops.  Finish is grapefruity and bitter.
Overall: Although this was a bit on the pricey side, Ska Brewing Company & BRASH Brewing Company Skankin' Dirty Imperial IPA was well worth trying.  This is my first BRASH Brewing Company beer and my second Ska Brewing Company beer and based on this one I think I’ll be trying more beers from each brewery in the future.  This 9% ABV beast is a good East Coast DIPA and although I don’t know that it is as good as some of my favorite local DIPAs I’d suggest trying it for fans of the style.

Cheers!

Mark Harvey
