Modern Times Beer Monsters' Park Imperial Stout

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Modern Times Beer Monsters' Park Imperial Stout. I picked this bottle up at The Wine Club in San Jose (here). They have a small craft beer section, but they have an incredible selection.  If you're anywhere near The Wine Club go visit them and tell 'em Mark from NorCal Beer Blog sent you!

From the Modern Times Beer website: “Monsters’ Park is a hulking, cantankerous imperial stout sporting a brawny malt bill and a dry, lingering finish. Its massive roast profile blends with an eye-popping coffee, chocolate, and toast character, which combine to provide a monumentally robust & aggressive experience. Monsters’ Park has an incredible chocolate and roast nose that is surprisingly balanced for the higher alcohol content. The flavor is complex, with chocolate, roast, dark fruit, coffee, and more that linger as you sip.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours black with a mocha colored head and sticky lacing.
Aroma: Roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and light dark fruits.
Taste: Bittersweet dark chocolate, dark roasted coffee beans, dark fruits, roasted malts and sweet on the finish.
Overall: Rich, smooth and creamy, Modern Times Beer Monsters' Park Imperial Stout is solid.  This 12% ABV offering is well crafted and I highly recommend it for fans of the style.

Cheers!

Mark Harvey
