Snake River Brewing Company Pako's IPA

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Snake River Brewing Company Pako's IPA. This is another beer sourced at Creekside Meats Market & Deli (Yelp page here).

From the Snake River Brewing Company website: “Named for Pako (say “PACO”) the dog (No wait, Pako’s not a dog!) This full flavored, fully hop-evident IPA will have the hopheads rejoicing. 6.8% ABV and 60+ IBUs with explosive hop aroma from a pungent Simcoe/columbus blend.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours a hazy golden yellow with a large white head leaving sticky and chunky lacing on the glass.
Aroma: Citrus and pine hops, sweet caramel and bready malts.
Taste: Initial citrus, pine and tropical fruit hop blast followed by sweet caramel and bready malts.  Slight honey-like sweetness as well.
Overall: A touch sweet, but easy to drink, Snake River Brewing Company Pako's IPA is very good.  At 6.8% ABV this slightly bitter, slightly sweet IPA is something I’d gladly drink again (and again).

Cheers!

Mark Harvey
