Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the
NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.
Tonight’s featured beer is Crux Fermentation Project On The
Fence Northwest Pale Ale.
From the Crux Fermentation Project website: “It’s not a Pale Ale and
it’s not an IPA – it’s “on the fence”. A solid malt backbone with significant
hop flavors and aromas (Centennial and Citra), medium alcohol and bitterness.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours
a hazy orange color with an off-white head and lots of lacing.
Aroma: Citrus and
tropical hops, very sweet smelling.
Taste: Citrus and
tropical hops balanced well with a sweet caramel and pale malt backbone.
Overall: Solid
and delicious, Crux Fermentation Project On The Fence Northwest Pale Ale is yet
another excellent beer from this brewer.
This 6.4% ABV and 50 IBU offering is a touch sweet, but not too
sweet. I’m a big fan of this brewery and
this beer.
Cheers!
Mark Harvey
