Clown Shoes Second Anniversary Ale Vampire Slayer Imperial American Stout

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Clown Shoes Second Anniversary Ale Vampire Slayer Imperial American Stout. I found this bottle at Willow’s Market in Menlo Park (here).

From the Clown Shoes Beer website: “In a world full of uncertainty, hardship, and people trying to hold us back, do we need Vampires, too? Clown Shoes says, “No! Die, monsters, die!”
Our second anniversary ale incorporates signature dark malts, holy water, and malt smoked locally with hickory, ash, and vampire killing stakes.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours pitch black with a thick mocha colored head and loads of lacing.
Aroma: Dark roasted malts, chocolate, smoke and licorice.
Taste: Dark roasted malts, dark and milk chocolate, licorice, coffee and smoke.
Overall: Thick, roasty and impressive, Clown Shoes Second Anniversary Ale Vampire Slayer Imperial American Stout is solid. This 10% ABV offering is yet another great beer from Clown Shoes Beer.

Cheers!

Mark Harvey
