Knee Deep Brewing Company Citra Extra Pale Ale

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Knee Deep Brewing Company Citra Extra Pale Ale.

From the Knee Deep Brewing Company website: “A single hop, west coast style American Pale Ale with intense hop flavor and aromas. This is a citrus bomb that has grapefruit and passion fruit aromas with citrus lime flavors.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours an orangish copper color with a frothy white head and sticky lacing.
Aroma: Incredible hop aroma – citrus, pine and tropical hops with some sweet and biscuit malt layered in the background.
Taste: Grapefruit, tropical and citrus hops balanced with biscuit and sweet caramel malts.  A wonderful Citra hop showcase!
Overall: Crisp and clean, fantastically drinkable and now craved constantly, Knee Deep Brewing Company’s Citra Extra Pale Ale is a VERY solid APA.  At 6% ABV a two bomber night is doable for me and honestly I end up wanting a third. So far everything I’ve had from Knee Deep Brewing Company has been stellar.  Stay tuned for more reviews of their beers…I’m going to keep them comin’!

Cheers!

Mark Harvey
