Firestone Walker Brewing Company 2014 Parabola Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

Tonight’s featured beer is Firestone Walker Brewing Company 2014 Parabola Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout.

From the Firestone Walker Brewing Company website: “One of our most aggressive and sought-after offerings. Bold bourbon, tobacco and espresso aromas and a hint of American oak greet the nose. Rich, chewy roasted malts, charred oak and bourbon-like vanilla fill the palate and create a seamless finish. A remarkably complex brew that offers a transcendental drinking experience – enjoy with good company.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours black with a mocha colored head and sticky lacing.
Aroma: Bourbon, dark fruit, espresso, oak, vanilla, chocolate, roasted malts and caramel.
Taste: Chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, oak, roasted malts, caramel and slight dark fruit and coffee flavors.
Overall: Incredibly delicious, Firestone Walker Brewing Company 2014 Parabola Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout is a beer to seek, stock up on and cherish.  At 14% ABV this meets and exceeds all expectations I had.  I purchased more bottles for cellaring and will probably need to crack another open before long.  This is exactly what I love in barrel aged beers.  Perfection!

Cheers!
