Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the
NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.
Tonight’s featured beer is Deschutes Brewery Twilight Summer
Ale.
From the Deschutes Brewery website: “Summer
has its own rules. As luck would have it, it also has its own beer. This clever
golden-hued ale pours remarkably crisp and clean. A distinctive malt body
complements a refreshing hop profile led by a heady dose of bold Amarillo hops.
Enjoy.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours
a hazy golden orange color with a white head and great lacing.
Aroma: Orange and
other citrus aromas, bready malts, pine and light caramel and wheat scents.
Taste: Citrus,
pine and earthy hops balanced with caramel and bready malts.
Overall: Sweet,
citrusy and refreshing, Deschutes Brewery Twilight Summer Ale is an excellent
summer beer. Not an IPA, this 5% ABV
offering is an excellent combination of hops and malts and is well crafted. I
highly recommend this one!
Cheers!
Mark Harvey
