Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the
NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.
Today’s featured beer is 21st Amendment Brewery Sneak
Attack Saison.
From the 21st Amendment Brewery website: “You might
not expect a Saison in winter. But the enemy didn’t expect Washington to cross
the icy Delaware, either. Expectations be damned, we say. We’re sneaking up on
winter with a boatload of bravado and this Belgian-style farmhouse ale. Dry
hopped with whole organic cardamom pods, our Saison has an assertive spiciness.
In your face, winter.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours a golden yellow color with a nice fluffy white
head.
Aroma: Light bread and biscuit malts, citrus, spice,
cardamom, Belgian yeast and banana.
Taste: Tart fruit, zesty, sweet, citrusy, spicy, bready
malts and a funky Belgian yeast thing going on. Nice cardamom in the finish.
Overall: Incredibly refreshing and tasty, 21st Amendment
Brewery Sneak Attack Saison is easy to drink and a fantastic Saison. It doesn’t drink like a 6.2% ABV beer. If you’re a fan of the style pick some
up. You’ll be glad you did!
Cheers!
Mark Harvey
