Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the
NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.
Tonight’s featured beer is Cigar City Brewing Evander Brown
Ale.
Commercial Description:
“Brown Ale with Spices - Artist and renaissance man, Evander Preston, carves out a unique presence in a world of sameness. Evander’s friends at Cigar City Brewing have brewed an exotic concoction based on his eccentric personality and style. The brew was a blend of flavors from far away lands. We know you will enjoy drinking our beer as much as we enjoyed brewing it. Evander’s studio and workshop is located at Pass-A-Grille, Florida.”

Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours a dark brown with ruby highlights, a thin
tan head and nice lacing.
Aroma: Sweet malts, chocolate, ginger, orange peel, spices
and roasted nuts.
Taste: Sweet and roasted malts, caramel, ginger, clove,
cinnamon, roasted nuts, spices, coffee and chocolate.
Overall: Smooth, malty and spiced just right Cigar City
Brewing Evander Brown Ale was exactly what I hoped it would be – a solid and
delicious spiced brown ale. At 5.5% ABV
this 750 ml bottle was perfect drinking.
Yet another beer from Cigar City Brewing that I would desire to keep
around with great regularity.
Cheers!
Mark Harvey
