Real Ale Brewing Company Brewhouse Brown Ale

Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.

In keeping with the “beer I drank while in San Antonio, TX” theme here’s another gem from the Lonestar State.

Tonight’s featured beer is Real Ale Brewing Company Brewhouse Brown Ale.

From the Real Ale Brewing Company website: “Caramel brown with a hint of chocolate, Brewhouse Brown melds four kinds of malt and American hops into a delicious dark ale. Rich and roasty, yet with a dry finish, it is the perfect companion for a hearty meal”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours a dark reddish brown with a nice beige head and good lacing.
Aroma: Malts…roasted, caramel, chocolate and toffee.  A nice nutty scent…roasted almonds.  Smells great.
Taste: Sweet and roasted malts, chocolate and toffee with just enough hops for balance. Finishes with a nice nutty flavor. Great malt profile…great taste!
Overall: I was very impressed by Real Ale Brewing Company’s Brewhouse Brown Ale.  Highly drinkable and at 5.4% ABV I could see having a few of them.

Cheers!

Mark Harvey
