Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the
NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.
Tonight’s featured beer is Bear Republic Brewing Company Red
Rocket Ale. I’ve been a longtime fan of Bear
Republic beers and so I figured I had better get a review done of their Red
Rocket Ale.
From the Bear Republic Brewing Company website: “Red Rocket Ale is
a bastardized Scottish style red ale that traces it's origins to our homebrew
roots. This full bodied and hoppy brew finishes on the palate with sweet,
caramel malt flavors.”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours a deep amber with a fluffy off-white head
and good lacing.
Aroma: Rich caramel and roasted malts, pine and citrus hops
and a touch of chocolate.
Taste: Delicious pine and citrus hops at the start quickly
followed by sweet caramel malt. Big
flavor that’s masterfully balanced.
Overall: Bear Republic Brewing Company’s Red Rocket Ale is
complex and flavorful and probably one of the best amber ales I’ve had. Weighing in at 6.8% ABV I’d say grab a few
(or a couple if you have a low tolerance) and get to it. This is a GREAT beer!
Cheers!
Mark Harvey
