Hello beer lovers and welcome to another edition of the
NorCal Beer Blog's brew review.
Tonight’s featured beer is Brewery Ommegang Hennepin
Farmhouse Saison.
From the Brewery Ommegang website: “Ale with spices:
Grains of paradise, ginger, coriander and sweet orange peel. Hearty and rustic
Golden Ale. Full-bodied, hoppy and crisp. Hennepin was made to quench your
thirst for the unknown”
Let’s get started!
Appearance: Pours a cloudy gold with a fluffy white head and
thick lacing.
Aroma: Fruity, spicy, Belgian yeast, floral, citrusy,
caramel with hints of banana and fresh cut grass.
Taste: Sweet and fruity – banana, apple, pear and peach,
Belgian yeast, ginger, coriander spice, bready malt and citrus and pine hops.
Overall: Complex, balanced and highly drinkable, Brewery
Ommegang Hennepin Farmhouse Saison is an excellent beer. Brewery Ommegang continues to impress me with
their offerings and this 7.7% ABV beauty is most definitely one to try.
Cheers!
Mark Harvey
